The Federal Armed Forces is an essential part of the entire life of the Uecker-region. About 3,000 soldiers and civilian personnel serve in the location area of Torgelow and most of them live here, too. The army has become an economic factor for many years, because small and medium-sized enterprises benefit from contracts in various fields. Whether it is the supply of food or the placing of building contracts, in this region workplaces will be secured. In the field of education or the provision of technical and management personnel who can be recruited from former soldiers on time, the Federal Armed Force is a reliable partner for the economy.
The other way around local people take a closely part in the life of the armed forces in the region. Whether it's attending swearing-in ceremonies, presentations of the armed forces or other events the region has always a tight connection to their soldiers. This also applies to the variety of sponsorship contracts between municipalities and the army troops that will be implemented together.

On the occasion of 20 years of the Federal Armed Forces in Uecker-Randow a brochure was accomplished under this title in May 2011 in cooperation with the Federal Armed Forces, the district of Uecker-Randow and the Förderungs- und Enwicklungsgesellschaft Uecker region mbH.
